Chelsea have achieved an increased turnover of over £350million mainly due to their success during the Premier League last season.

Turnover grew to £361.3million from £329.1million the previous year resulting in a profit for the 12 months of £15.3million.

Chelsea’s Premier League triumph and the start of the league’s bumper new TV deal principally accounted for the rise, which came despite the club’s absence from the Champions League.

A profit on player trading of £69.2million offset an operating loss to ensure Chelsea have complied with UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations.

The club expect revenues to continue to grow this season, with Champions League football back at Stamford Bridge and the start of their record commercial deal with Nike.

Chairman Bruce Buck said on the club website: “It is very pleasing we matched significant achievement on the pitch in 2016/17 with a successful year commercially.

“Our business has continued to grow long term and to be able to post record turnover figures despite not playing Champions League football during that period highlights this strength.”
